Social Security Update: The first June payment will go out this week

Some Social Security recipients will receive their first June payment this week.

Issued by the Social Security Administration (SSA), monthly benefits are paid to retired Americans, disabled individuals, and surviving family members of deceased claimants. Given the different payment categories and the estimated 67 million payers, not every claimant is paid on the same date each month.

This month there has been a slight change in the timing of payment distribution. Usually, the first round of Social Security payments for those in a certain category is made in the second week of the month. But in June, it is being held in the third week, which begins on Monday, June 10.

This week, payments will be made on Wednesday, June 12 to those born between the 1st and 10th of any given month of the year who have not claimed Social Security since before 1997 and also do not claim Social Security income. supplemental insurance (SSI).

Since June started on a Saturday, the payment is scheduled for the third week of the month. Although it may seem like recipients are waiting longer than usual for their regular payment, this is not the case. Those with birthdays in the first 10 days of the month are always paid on the second Wednesday.

Although this change does not happen often, it is not the only case this year. According to the HSC plan, third week payments will also be made in August and November.

May 31

ISSH payments were made on May 31. This payment was made one day earlier than usual due to the usual date, June 1, falling on a Saturday.

Applicants with birthdays between the 11th and 20th of each month are due on Wednesday, June 18.

June 25

Those born between the 21st and 31st of each month are due on Wednesday, June 25th.

Social Security recipients have also been alerted to a recent scam regarding the annual cost of living adjustment (COLA). The Social Security Administration has warned that any reports of the $600 benefit payment that will be introduced this June are false.
